General Rules

Age Groups & Categories

  • Under 10 (Junior Audio) – Born in 2016 or later
  • Under 15 (Intermediate Audio) – Born between 2011 and 2015
  • Under 15 (Intermediate Live) – Born between 2011 and 2015
  • Above 15 (General Live) – Born in 2010 or earlier
  • Age requirements are strictly enforced with no exemptions permitted Team Size & Performance Timings
  • Teams must consist of 10-12 participants (minimum 10, maximum 12)
  • Performance duration: 10-12 minutes
  • Additional time allocated: 5 minutes for stage preparation and 5 minutes for stage exit

Registration Priority

  • Registration priority is assigned as follows:
            1. International teams
           2. Interstate teams
           3. Base Committee affiliated organizations
           4. Non-affiliated organizations
  • Total competition capacity is limited to 20 teams
  • Vacancies may become available if affiliated teams are terminated or fail to complete registration requirements

Registration Fee & Payment Schedule

  • Registration fee: $500 per team (paid in two installments)
  • First Installment: $250 due upon acceptance of your registration application
  • Second Installment: $250 due with team sheet submission before the final deadline
  • Audio files must be submitted before the second installment payment

Cancellation Policy

A registered team may be removed from the competition under the following circumstances:
  • Breach of any Base Committee obligations (for affiliated organizations)
  • Failure to pay registration fees by the final deadline
  • Failure to submit audio files or team sheets by the final deadline
  • Audio files must be submitted before the second installment payment
  • Submission of audio files that do not meet required playing standards or format specifications

Dress Code & Props

To honor the traditional essence of Giddha, all participants must adhere to the following guidelines:
  • Costumes must align with the performance theme and follow traditional Punjabi attire styling
  • All wardrobe items must remain secure throughout the performance
  • Not permitted: White or black costumes, sleeveless or half-sleeve shirts, glass bangles, or anklets
  • Props should complement the performance theme and be handled respectfully
  • Place props gently on the floor when not in use during the performance .
