Obligations
Base Committee Membership
The Base Committee forms the heart of the Punjabi Folk Dance Association. As a valued Base Committee member, you’ll contribute to judging, scoring systems, and rule development—without the burden of administrative duties during the Giddha Cup. This allows you to concentrate fully on supporting your teams while enjoying stage recognition and the honor that comes with your leadership role. You’ll also receive priority registration for your teams ahead of non-affiliated clubs.
Your membership includes invitations to special events such as guest welcomes, mixer nights, marking sheet reviews, post-Giddha Cup evaluation lunches, and celebration parties with celebrities. We’ll keep you informed every step of the way.
To maintain the integrity and unity of our organization, Base Committee members agree to the following commitments:
• Contribute a minimum of $2,000 in fundraising support for the Giddha Cup
• Maintain confidentiality regarding organizational discussions, decisions, and documents
• Refrain from publicly criticizing the organization on any social media platform
• Register at least one team for participation in the Giddha Cup
• Set aside personal differences to preserve the solidarity of PFDA
• Understand that any breach of these obligations may result in removal from the Base Committee
• Note that termination from the Base Committee will result in loss of team registration priority
All Teams & Participants
We believe competition showcases not only dance excellence but also discipline, respect, and strong social values. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, team representatives and participants are expected to:
• Engage respectfully with judges and management throughout the Giddha Cup
• Address any concerns about judging decisions in a courteous and constructive manner during the next day’s evaluation lunch with the judges
• Designate up to two representatives per team to meet with the judge panel
• Understand that disrespectful behavior toward judges or organizers will result in future competition bans
• Note that judging sheets will be discussed and explained at the evaluation session rather than provided immediately after performances
• Recognize that negative comments or criticism on social media may result in future participation restrictions
• Submit any complaints or concerns via email or raise them during the post-Giddha Cup meeting—we welcome your feedback through appropriate channels
• Be aware that defamatory statements, false rumors, or misleading information posted on social media regarding the event may constitute an offense under the Uniform Defamation Act 2005
• Understand that the Punjabi Folk Dance Association Brisbane reserves the right to pursue legal action and seek compensation for any defamation against the organization or its management.
